Upon joining Moody National Companies in 2005, Mr. Lee helped to form the Investor Services team and served as the Director where he closed over $500 million in 1031 transactions. He later transitioned to Vice President of Investments, a role that involved in the structuring and distribution of syndications for Moody National’s various equity programs. As a result of his efforts, Moody National Companies has syndicated over $2.1 Billion of real estate investment products. Mr. Lee holds a Master of Arts in Leadership, Theology, & Society from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia as well as a BA in Business Administration from Baylor University. He currently holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses. He resides in San Diego, California with his wife, Kara, his daughter, Lydia, and his sons, Levi and Lukas.
Ms. Smith serves as General Counsel for Moody National Companies and is responsible for overseeing all legal matters. Prior to joining Moody National Companies in June 2007, Ms. Smith was an attorney at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, where she specialized in corporate financing and securities transactions with an emphasis on the representation of sponsors in private placements and real estate syndications, including limited partnerships, limited liability companies, Delaware statutory trusts, and tenant-in-common interests. Ms. Smith has acted as securities counsel in over $2 billion of real estate syndications including office buildings, retail centers, shopping malls, apartment buildings, assisted living facilities and hotels. Ms. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Political Science, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall). Ms. Smith was previously the President of Moody Securities, LLC and held Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses with FINRA.
